At Gallery Aaldering, in addition to classic cars, there is currently an exhibition of paintings by Lydia de Loos.
Lydia de Loos (1963) was born and raised in Den Helder. In 1987 she became interested in painting with watercolors and discovered her talent. From then on, Lydia took her paints and brushes with her everywhere she went.
Her paintings show that Lydia has a pronounced passion and preference for the exuberance of bright colors. Her style is expressionistic, which reflects the feelings and experiences of the artist.
But with her oil paintings she is also a master of the Fauvist style, where extremely subtle color transitions are clearly visible without mixing.
Every day she paints in one of her studios or somewhere on location. Lydia is always looking for new forms of expression and is constantly traveling to discover what can be created with acrylic and oil paint.
Her work can be divided into a number of periods: the love for watercolours, the constructive period in which everything had to be perfect down to the last detail, the passion for flowers and the free period in which she is currently. Her use of color is one of her strongest talents and extremely dynamic, the subjects are exciting or humorous and certainly unique.
